DSAA invites submissions for a half-day Work-in-Progress Workshop for PhD students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) working in development studies and related fields.
This online event provides an opportunity to:
- Present research that’s in progress
- Receive constructive feedback
- Hear what others in the field are working on
- Connect with peers and academics across institutions
We particularly encourage submissions of early-stage work, whether you’re developing theoretical ideas, refining a methodology, or sharing initial findings. The aim is to create a supportive space for exchange, discussion, and professional growth.
Who can apply?
- PhD students and Early Career Researchers (within 5 years post-PhD)
- You must be a current DSAA member (membership can be taken up before submission)
The session will consist of 15-minute individual paper presentations followed by group discussion and feedback.
Please submit your abstract via this form by 24th October 2025.
Your submission should include:
- An abstract (up to 250 words) outlining your paper
- A short bio (up to 50 words) including your name, affiliation, research focus, and your PhD/ECR stage
Successful applicants will be notified by 31 October 2025. Please see the Call for Papers for more information about the event.
